This pack represents a French foot artillery battery suitable for brigade or division-level support throughout the Napoleonic period. French artillery formed the backbone of Napoleon's tactical system, with batteries positioned to deliver devastating concentrated fire at decisive moments.
The Gribeauval system guns were the standard French artillery pieces up until 1812, with the An XI system not entirely in operation until the last years of the war. Artillery crews were skilled professionals who could maintain two shots per minute even under enemy pressure; their discipline and training made them among the finest gunners in Europe.
This battery pack comes with two 8-pounder Gribeauval guns and 1 6in Gribeauval Howitzer, as standard. In the comments section, you can request two An XI 6-pounder guns or two 12-pounder Gribeauval guns instead. Each pack contains three guns with 20 crew figures, including one artillery officer.
